Canadian Mennonite University
The Manitoba School for the Deaf building had been under-utilized for many years and was in varying states of disrepair. Once acquired by the Canadian Mennonite University, numerous upgrades were necessary in order to bring the building into compliance with current building code requirements, while also meeting with the approval of Heritage Manitoba. Existing spaces were renovated for use as classrooms, offices, musical performance, and recreation. The result is a building that meets modern requirements while preserving the integrity of its heritage designation.
